- for map scrolling you can use WASD or arrow keys, you can also click and hold MMB
- gathering resources - the hammer icon is how much production it costs to complete this gathering task. The more gathering skill a villager has, the more production points he adds each turn to the task. Each level of Gathering = 10 production points added each turn (but level 0 is 5 points, so even unskilled gatherers can do something). The bag icon to the left of the hammer icon is pack size - how much of this resource will be added to your inventory once the gathering task is complete.
- food and fuel usage - each villager uses 1 food per turn. Fuel you just need 1 per turn for the entire village (each camp also uses 1 fuel per turn). Having no food - the villagers will lose HP and eventually die. Without wood the gathering and crafting tasks happen slower. Both food and fuel are required for the villagers to regenerate HP.
- you can quickly switch between crafting and gathering tasks using arrow buttons above the current and available task lists
- cooked meals - these add to food variety. the more variety you've got, the better are the bonuses for the group that has them (bonuses can be viewed from the Inventory panel - click on the green button with food icon on it. This panel also allows you to exclude some food/fuel items from use so you don't burn something you wanted to craft from). Also cooked meals are more economical - for example from a total of 6 used resources you're getting 8 food items.
- buidings (and crafted items in general) - their stats and bonuses depend on the resources they are constructed from. The better (more rare) the resources - the better items/buildings you get. So you can build a Pasture from regular Wood and Vegetables and get 1 Meat per turn or you can build from Driad Wood and Exotic Fruit and get 5 Meat per turn (sorry, I don't remember exact bonuses from all materials, but just to give you an idea).
- resources on the map can be checked by clicking the Eye button in the top right corner, right above your god portrait. You'll then see the icons of resources on each hex. Not ideal but we're working on it to make it better.
- research - apart from getting new materials for gathering, you can also unlock new recipes for crafting and building. There are left/right arrow buttons at the research panel's heading to select category (though many people don't notice them so we'll probably change that to tabs later on).
